Are you directionally challenged?

How many times have you found the address correctly, without getting lost?
How many times did you had to call your family / friend to find out where on this earth are they staying?
There are some people who are so bad with directions; they couldn’t find their way out of a paper bag. You give them directions, tell them precisely how to get somewhere, and invariably they will get lost.

One of the solutions is using Global Positioning System (GPS) in some countries, but for countries where GPS does not work what do we do? Like for example in India, we have a unique GPS which is ‘Get People’s Suggestions’. :-)

Some of the typical conversations with ‘Get People’s Suggestions’ type GPS are listed here…

Hello – excuse me; do you where this address comes? People with sense of humor would say, this address will not come anywhere! And you have to go and find it! :-)
Other person might say, Well… i’m relatively new here, you may want to try taking the first right and then 3rd left and so on… He is trying to help but for sure you will get lost.
Third person will say, Ahha this one… I had been here last week, but now you can’t reach this place from where you are now, since there are lot of one-way and two-way’s concept… Dang!

Not to worry, our Twitter too, is directionally challenged sometimes and here is the proof.

  1. Oh yes..you are right..

Nowadays I use Google Map as I need to go to colleges in Bangalore.
its awesome…Not sure if it works all over INDIA…but sure for Bangalore it a nice tool…just mention the name of the place…you get the direction..take a printout and you are all set…if you have a web enabled mobile, nothing better !!

    Cheers!!

    • @Guru : Guru,i feel Men too are equally directionally challenged but they have this unique confidence in them, that they can figure out. But eventually they also end up asking others for help! Next time if you go out somewhere to a new place and if u can find it easily do let me know. :-)

BTW,your feedback is important to me, keep visiting and commenting! :-) Thanks!

  5. This is sommething i totally agree. I used to always get appreciated as i was so sure of roads back in bang.
After coming to US, you can survive without food but not without GPS. Its like your lifeline for directions here. Reading though this blog reminds me that i am one of the lost people here in US :) .. lost in this jungle of roads.. Nice work kats!!
