My weekends are a lot more different and adventurous after i moved out of Bangalore,although i had some wonderful time before i left.
If i am not traveling on a weekend, if i don’t have to work(yes i do work over the weekends sometimes),if i cant settle down watching a movie, i decide to cook! So today was that D-day where i decided to make one of my favorite akki rotti – as sunday brunch.
Akki rotti is a karnataka speciality. Akki means rice in kannada. Rice flour is used to make rottis. One can make so many different kinds of akki rottis. Most common one is rice flour mixed with coconut, cumin seeds and salt (called plain rotti). Other one is masala rotti made using carrot, onion, coriander leaves, Cilantro leaves, chillies, cumin seeds. One can also add methi leaves, dill leaves depending on your choice.
Ingredients required:
* Rice flour 1 cups (makes 2 rottis)
* Onions 1 small finely chopped
* Carrot 1 grated
* Cilantro leaves handful finely chopped
* Green chilli 1 finely chopped
* Cumin seeds 1 tsp ( optional )
* Oil 1tsp
* Salt to taste
* Water 1/2 cup or according to required consistency
Now mix the all this ingrediets together and make the dough. One can use the wax paper to make these rottis, but if you don’t have them you can directly make in on the tava. Take the mixture and pat it evenly on the tava. Make few holes for the rotti and then put the oil. Keep it on medium heat and cover the rotti. After a minute,just turn the rotti once for half a minute and that’s it! All ready to eat!

The side dish for this rotti varies from pudina chutney,chutnipudi(with curd),Pickle etc. I had tomato/onion gojju and pudina chutney
Ending the post on this note, ‘Anybody who believes that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach,flunked biology’!
Cheers!!
Well done ‘Cook Karuna’
The only problem is that I could not taste it.
That would have been the “Moment of Truth’
he he he..
Cheers!!

Ahaa surprising that ur not a FOODIE..and u tell me taht after such an elaborate blog abt cooking
n abt the position of the heart .. Logically ur correct … but love cannot be be explained if u start seeing everything logically alwaa
So in that sense if u wann a man to love u then always remember that the stomach comes first
